Lately...
We've had lots of big things happen lately (although I haven't posted anything in a long time). We went to the mountains to celebrate Caleb's great-great aunt Rachel's 93rd birthday. There he got to meet his cousin Jack, who is 2 weeks younger than him, for the first time as well as his older girl cousins. There are some really great pictures from this weekend, but somehow none of them ended up on my camera. Then Grammy spent a week with us. Caleb got dedicated at church on Sunday. Caleb got his first tooth (ouch!) and his first cold (poor baby). Caleb is also close to crawling. He easily gets up on all fours and he can can move his legs, but the arm motion is tricky. Anyway, with all this action, the only pictures I got are of Caleb and his latest silly thing...sticking that tongue out and to the side. He'd doing it all the time!

Little Masterpeice
It was cold and windy last Thursday night and so instead of our evening walk, Caleb and I had a little fun with my paints (don't worry grandparents, they are non-toxic). Here are the results! The paint on his hands and feet was intentional, however the head was a total accident. And had someone besides myself been home, I would of gotten a picture of the two of us, b/c I was just as messy.

Gimme Some Food
We started a new adventure this week: baby food! Caleb had rice cereal for the first time Sunday and he loves the stuff (which isn't surprising at all). Here is a video of his 2nd time eating it. Right after I turned the camera off, he sneezed it all over me.

Laughs
Caleb laughs all the time now. One of our favorite things is to bring Caleb in the bed with us first thing in the morning- his happy time- and just listen to him talk and laugh. This isn't from our morning time, but its a pretty cute clip of Chad making Caleb laugh.
Check-Up
Caleb went to his 4 month check uo this week.
He weighs a whopping 17.1 lbs (92%)and is 25" long (though I really think he is 26").
He had those awful shots again, but after a little crying and a lot of sleeping he has fully recovered. Everything checked out great. The doc predicts that he is going to be tall (don't know where he gets that from) due to his rapid weight gain. He's a happy, healthy boy!

Sunday Clothes
Here's Caleb looking all cute in his Sunday best. He is also showing off for the camera his new trick, holding his feet, which is quite a feat for the little man since he is far from the most flexible baby in the world (thanks to his daddy's genes and that big ole gut that gets in the way). He has also rolled over a handful of times and today he scooted about 3 feet across the floor on his belly using just his legs. He is a little mover and shaker.

Wlecome to the World Baby Luke
Caleb's new cousin has arrived! Luke Anthony Guranieri was born Sept 10th at 1:04pm. Caleb doesn't seem to mind sharing the attention at all. When Caleb first saw Luke, he just stared at him. Then when we asked Caleb to give Luke a kiss, he opened up wide, shook his head back and forth and laid a sloppy one right on Luke's head. Looks like these two are going to get along just fine!

Caleb's got a girlfriend
Caleb and I got to accompany Chad on a work trip to the beach. We had lots of beach fun. One of the highlights of this trip for Caleb was getting to be around someone his own size. Marlie (Kent and Melanie Rienhardt's little girl) is a month older than Caleb (though you wouldn't know it by their size). When we laid them next to each other, they held hands! It was so cute!

Beach Bum
We just got back from a weekend on St. Simons Island with Kristin's family. We had a fabulous time and are thrilled that Caleb likes the beach as much as we do! He dipped his little feet in the ocean and swam in the pool, played in his tent, and took long naps while listening to the waves and enjoying the breeze. He even made it out to see the sunrise. Good thing he likes it b/c we are headed back tomorrow. This time Ocean Isle Beach,NC with Chad's work. And then again in September with the Chandlers. What a life!

My How You've Grown
Caleb went to his 2 month checkup at the doctor this morning. He weighed in at hefty 13.1 lbs (82%) and he is 23.25" long (65%). We've got a chunky little monkey. His head however is only in the 23%, which is funny because before he was born the sonographer couldn't believe how big head was & estimated that is was in the 99%. I was happy she was wrong. After the fun measuring & weighing they gave little boy his shots :( He turned redder than a chili pepper and screamed, but was fine afterwards. I think his Mommy was more upset than he was.
To show off those 5 lbs. and 13 oz. he's gained since birth, I've got a picture of him here at 8 days old and then at 8 weeks old.

Friends!
Our friends Joel and Bethany visited this weekend with their little girl Addie Lane. Lots of friends came over to see the Scoggins & there were babies everywhere. Its crazy that just a year ago none of them were here. Here is Caleb with Addie Lane & Brooks (little Luke didn't make it into the pictures). It's not as easy as it looks to get all them awake & looking at the camera.

All American Baby
Caleb celebrated his first 4th of July! He actually had a lot of firsts....He wore shoes for the first time. He went to a restaurant for the first time. He went to party, at Resort O'Kelley, at which he was quite popular. And to top it all off he went to his first fireworks show (which he sucessfully slept through).
